Why Collegiate Membership?
In addition to receiving the benefits of a professional member, collegiate members have unique opportunities available on their own campuses. Below is a list of just some of the activities collegiate chapters around the state are involved in**.

  • Musical outreach in local schools
  • Reading sessions: members gather monthly to read through new music
  • Lunch and learns: professional educator’s serve as guest speakers over lunch
  • Caroling at local businesses and nursing homes during the holiday season
Additionally, collegiate members may run for student office on their local ACDA board, have access to monetary assistance in attending local and national ACDA conferences, and serve as volunteers at the annual Voices United conference in Northern Virginia. All of these offer wonderful opportunities for leadership, professional development and networking.
